Temperature Sensors
Within heating systems, it’s important to have temperature sensors in place that can monitor the temperature of the product. This is critical for both safety and efficiency.
Thermocouples and resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) are the two main types of temperature sensors available, and at Hedin Heaters we can supply our clients with both. These include:
- Mineral Insulated Thermocouples
- Heavy Duty Thermocouples
- Atex/IECEx Approved Thermocouples
- AMS2750 Approved Thermocouples
- Type ‘J’ Thermocouples
- Type ‘K’ Thermocouples
- PT100
- Thermostats
- RTD Sensors
Thermocouples & RTDs
The most common temperature sensor is the thermocouple, which is typically used in industrial, automotive and consumer products. They are self-powered, capable of working over a wide range of temperatures and have quick response times. In contrast, RTDs are externally powered and operate based on a change in metal resistance. As temperature changes, so does metal resistance and the RTD measures this and displays the temperature.
We provide our clients with temperature sensors in a variety of designs and can manufacture products to specifically suit your needs.
Dimensions can be made exactly to your requirements, and if you send a sample of your existing temperature sensor to the Hedin Heaters team, we’ll be able to replicate it and provide you with a quotation for a replacement. To find out more, simply give us a call or complete the online contact form.
